Gerstenslager had been around for some time, but started production of van bodies and special truck bodies in the 1920s. After WWII they were known for custom-built mobile vehicles such as bookmobiles, fire rescue vehicles, dental units, mobile X-ray units, mobile hospitals, and mobile television units. If you think you don't know the company, this may quickly change your mind.
Did you know? Gerstenslager designed 5 Wienermobiles for Oscar Mayer back in the 1950's.
