Apart from being standard equipment on the new 300 SE, the DB automatic transmission is available, as an optional extra, on the 220 SE saloon and coupe. After years of research this transmission has been developed by Daimler-Benz especially for the larger Mercedes-Benz cars, with the object of making the fullest use of engine power with the least effort on the part of the driver. Condition: 1962 handwritten in ink on the cover.
