1970 Ford Car Preliminary Service Shop Repair Manual. ORIGINAL
Developed by Ford Motor Company, this manual is intended to provide the Service Technician with interirm information about the service operations which are new or revised for the 1970 model. It is correct and complete as of the time this manual is printed, and, used in conjunction with the appropriate 1969 (or 1970 Maverick) publications, should enable the technician to perform all service necessary during the early life of 1970 models.
When using this manual, please remember that it is intended merely as a preliminary service information publication which by no means will replace the detailed information provided by the 1970 Shop Manual and any service bulletins.
Appropriate service methods and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable operation of all motor vehicles as well as the personal safety of the individual doing the work. This manual provides general directions for performing service with tested, effective techniques. Following them will help assure reliability. There are numerous variations in procedure, techniques, tools and parts for servicing vehicles, as well as in the skill of the individual doing the work. This manual cannot possibly anticipate all such variations and provide advice or cautions as to each. The descriptions and specifications contained in the manual were in effect at the time of publication. Note: These manuals were never meant as restoration manuals, as that is not within the regular scope of work done by dealership service departments.
