1996 Oldsmobile Aurora and Buick Riviera (G Platform) Service Shop Repair Manual Set. Volumes 1 & 2. ORIGINAL
Developed by General Motors, this shop manual provides information on the diagnosis, the service procedures, the adjustments, and the specifications for the 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora and Buick Riviera.
The information on transmission unit repair (overhaul) can be found in the 1996 Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual (TURM), available separately (NOT Included). The TURM manual contains information on automatic and manual transmissions and transaxles, and transfer cases for all GM passenger cars and light duty trucks, including the fluid flow and circuit description information.
Appropriate service methods and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable operation of all motor vehicles as well as the personal safety of the individual doing the work. This manual provides general directions for performing service with tested, effective techniques. Following them will help assure reliability. There are numerous variations in procedure, techniques, tools and parts for servicing vehicles, as well as in the skill of the individual doing the work. This manual cannot possibly anticipate all such variations and provide advice or cautions as to each. The descriptions and specifications contained in the manual were in effect at the time of publication. Note: These manuals were never meant as restoration manuals, as that is not within the regular scope of work done by dealership service departments.
